[AT] OT: sleeper air

When I took off the roof of my New Holland TS110, It had a layer of crud 
that was just like tar paper
  over the blower side of the fins of the evaporator.  I vacuumed it out 
with a shop vac, and washed the fins out with Windex.   It now works 
better than before.  I changed the filters on the outside and inside, 
and this resulted in a colder temp overall, and even saves about 10 
gallons of fuel a day.  By cleaning the evaporator coils, the head 
pressure is lowered and probably takes less HP to run the compressor.

I got a refrig scale and tried charging the Dodge van with that ES12A 
freon replacement that was supposed to be the same as Red Tek 12A.   I 
still would not cool.   I removed the crap, vacuumed it down and 
replaced it with R134A 5 cans, or 3.75 lbs.  It now works nearly as good 
as it always did.  It is not the best when idling, but it may get 
better.   It still will blow 40 deg air at 1100 RPM, So I can live with 
that.    Guess I will have to get another jug of R134A or  Red Tek , and 
try to stick this ES-12A where the sun don't shine in the Manuf.....   I 
think it is just a bad batch of refrigerant.
