Gene,
     I suspect you are right.  The only thing this old tractor does/has 
done for the last 30 years or so is power a truck auger emptying grain 
bins.  It never gets hot enough to make the coil break down, but it 
could be getting weak, I suppose.  But, I'll bet cleaning fixes things.  
I have plans to get to that tomorrow as it will be too cold to do 
anything outside if I can find a reason to stay inside.
