Sounds like a complete scam to me as well. I wouldn't even reply with an 
email.

When I sell things on Craigslist I always require the purchaser to send me 
their phone number. I do not reply back to any emails until I talk to them 
on the phone. It's amazing how many scammers hang out on Craigslist. They 
always ask vague questions, never mentioning the item specifically. Often on 
Craigslist the email comes through at a weird time of day as well.
