Charlie,

The squareup.com thing looks really interesting. I have just signed up. The
2.7% rate is
slightly lower than PayPal's rate for smaller purchases. In order for it to
verify the
card it must contact an on-line site to verify funds for any given
transaction. If funds
are transferred within one day that is also quicker than PayPal. I'm
assuming one can
enter the credit card manually on the android phone in case the card isn't
available.
Hmmm, that would often occur while you were on the phone with someone. We
will see how
this works.

Having just signed up for square up I'm not sure one can configure the
account to pay
directly to the paypal account. One could have it deposited to your bank
account and then
manually transfer it to the PayPal account then transfer it to the Paypal
credit card.
But that kind of voids out one of the major reasons to use a credit card to
begin with.
That is.... approximately 30 days before payment is due. Maybe I'm missing
something

Dean, your explanation of how PayPal works reminded me of a couple of
things I saw this
week that could come in handy for buying and selling.
One is a device for I-phones and Androids called "squareup" that is a FREE
piece of
hardware that plugs into the phone and allows you to scan and charge to
customers credit
cards. As I said the device is free and the charge for the service is 2.75%
per swipe
which is cheaper than a lot of other services. They claim to have next day
payout as
well.
https://squareup.com/ The other is a pre-paid credit card by PayPal. They
send you the card and you can load it with funds from your PayPal account
and use it like
any other credit card. It seems to me you could use the square up device to
get paid,
have the funds paid to your PayPal account and loaded onto your PayPal card.
The whole
deal is done without having to deal with banks and their high rates.

What am I missing?
