[AJD] JD paint

Kreig,
Keep in mind that it was not my paint job that turned blue and I
have no idea when the ones I saw were done. I am guessing 20+ years
ago. Formulations may have been and probably have been changed. I,
personally would stay away from the green rustoleum.
I have no experience with Valspar, so I cannot comment. Sure is a
large company but that doesn't always mean what you expect it to mean
either.
I do like VanSickle, however I have not used their John Deere
colors and I also only have experience span of a couple years.
For my John Deere painting, I have been using John Deere paint. I
have never put hardener in it either. I probably will try it next time,
however. I go for an original looking finish instead of the current
"wet" look that is now in vogue. Most of mine are indeed original
looking........rusty.
My 40U was painted by Rock Valley Tractor Salvage probably 20 years
ago. It is industrial yellow and is very nice. Whatever they used is a
good paint. That business has changed and I cannot find paint on their
website but I seem to remember they sold Valspar. I have had a nap
since then, however.
