[Ford-ferguson] What do I have?

Sounds like a British made TE30 with the standard TO30 cowling.
Should be a 28.8HP. Any clues offered via 6V coil or plugs type?
My 1952 TO30 has the "Ferguson 30" also named there.
Not sure what else to suggest.

Subject: [Ford-ferguson] What do I have?

I recently purchased an old fergie. The plates on the engine cowling say “Ferguson 30,” which led me to think I had a TO30. However, when looked at the plate behind the steering wheel on the dash, it says it was built in Coventry and carries a serial number beginning with TE (the full number is TE 25770, which would indicate a 1948 TE-20 I think).

Can anyone on list clarify this for me? What do I really have and which plate should I believe? Does the 30 on the engine cowling refer simply to the HP and not to the model number perhaps?
