[AT] NOS Oliver 60

Joe, about 15 miles form me sits one of the last IH 140's built, and is
basically new. A tobacco farming family bought 2 of them as soon as they
heard IH was discontinuing that model. The plan was to put them in storage.
I think they got driven around the yard a bit for a couple of years before
being left in a closed building. Somebody from the eastern part of the state
heard about them and begged them to sell them one, promising he wanted it to
keep. It was sold as soon as the guy got it home. The other one is still in
the building, with the tags still on the cultivators. The day it goes up for
sale ( if it ever does) I imagine there are going to be a bunch of Southern
good ol' boys ready to shell out big bucks for it. (Those tractors powered
our farm economy in the 60's and 70's).

Some guys on the Farmall list told once of a new mid-sized IH tractor from
the 60's or 70's, I believe it is up in the PA area.

I wonder how many NOS tractors are out there?

I also saw and IH road tractor from the 40's with only about 17 miles. A
trucking company bought several of them at once and put that one in stock in
a warehouse. They robbed the tires, batteries, and maybe a couple other
pieces. They never bothered to fix it so it could get on the road.

John Hall
