That old iron brings back old times. I worked as a equipment mechanic for a const. equip. dealer for 25 year in the Baltimore area. I worked on a lot of crains and heavy equip. We sold Bucyrus Erie, Murphy Diesel, CMC truck mixers Oshk osh ,Eimco equipment. I have a nice collection of old gas engines,JD tractors and some others. I just came back from a old equip ment show at Williams Grove PA which I sold some some of my old JD equip. I can't keep up with it anymore. Ihope some one will show it and take care. most of it was at shows that I had restored and was in working order. I used to go to school at Bucy rus Erie factory in Evansville IND. and murphy diesel in Milwaukee Wis. I also had some old gas engines on display this week at Williams grove. Thanks for the link. I think I mite like to hav e a Murphy Engine I was up at the National Pik e show last month and I man let me Run his North West model 6 shovel that has a old murphy in it. Made my day! Jim from Hereford Maryland

This is a guy's "collection" of old iron. It is really quite amazing.
The site was suggested on a model railroad forum that is devoted to
"weathering" models.

WOW. Thanks for posting that link. I wish he was my neighbor. I'd love to walk around that place and dream a little. I hope it all doesn't go to scrap when he's gone (although there's quite a bit the should). Never seen so many steam engines in one place.
Enjoy, Joe

Good to hear that she is doing well.
Brings back memories (oooolld memories). Our farm varied from black dirt
to light sand. Riding a bike in sand was difficult, even if one was very
observant. The sand could be hard or top couple inches real dry and loose,
in which case turning was difficult. The only good thing about that was it
was difficult to pump so one was normally going quite slow and the loose
sand provided a relatively soft landing. So I was not prepared for the
first time I experienced a film of gravel on a blacktop or concrete road.
I immediately realized that soft sand was not so bad.
