[AT] A vs. Super A engine internals To swap or not to swap

Al,

According to my catalog, the kit that you have contains the standard
compression pistons. This kit can be used to serial number 310299. The rod
and main bearings should be the same in all of the tractors according to my
catalog. It appears the biggest difference in these engines it the valve
length.. Kit # BEKH1154 has the high compression stepped pistons. Which
can be used in the same serial number range of tractors.

I just looked in my Farmall Data Book. It looks like you should be good to
go. It looks like the big change came in the middle of 1951.

Lou

Lou,

The kit's number is BEKH1150. IIRC it's got 3 1/8" pistons, the sleeves fit
the original A block just fine so they appear to be thinwalled sleeves. I
will check the serial numbers on the tractors.

Thanks,
Al
