Several years ago, when "Bubba the wonder dog" was just a pup, my
ex-daughter-in-law brought home 3 ducklings from the Troy Funfest,
a local fair. The ducks soon grew bigger than Bubba and would pick
on him pretty mercilessly. That changed a few months later when
Bubba got his size(about 55 lbs.). He started winning the fights.
After a couple more months, the ducks just "disappeared" one at
a time. :o)

I have an Amish neighbor who had a tom turkey who didn't like me wearing
a red sweatshirt and would come after me any time my back was turned. He
sustained a fatal neck injury just before Thanksgiving a couple years ago.
The one they have now is a lot more tolerant and sets and watches from atop
a fence post.

As a youngster growing up, we always had a few domestic geese around,
mainly to weed the soybean fields. The pasture fence was at the back of the
yard and one of the dogs got close to the fence and the gander punched him
on the nose with his beak. The dog knew the shortest way through the fence
and immediately educated the gander. There was a truce between the two of
them after that.
