Well we're just back from the show this past week in Florida and being a
first timer to the show I might have been expecting more being that it was a
"Gathering of the Orange" event for the Allis-Chalmers brand. The swap meet
area was unreal to say the least with it taking days to cover just glancing
at the parts and the village was a real treat. The displays were very nice
and interesting to see. We could have devoted a day to just that area. My
wife took a lot of pictures of displays and people and had a great time. The
showing of A-C tractors was very disappointing with probably 60 pieces on
display. A lot of people from far off brought their tractors to show and if
I had time to drive and had my own trailer would have taken our two. I'm
sure we'll go back as the weather was better than I would have dreamed. In
fact it was a lot warmer than usual for this time of year hitting the upper
80s and maybe hit 90 one day and not a drop of rain. The people were so nice
and friendly but that's what I've come to expect from FATG's J Thanks to
fellow club Buckeye Allis member Dave Blackstone and his wife Carol for
letting us use their golf car for a few hours when they left early. We
didn't reserve one in advance and had no clue we would need one but at $70 a
day the Golf car vender did REALLY well. I think I saw license plates from
probably 20 states and lots of our Canadian friends too from Nova Scotia to
BC. Hopefully next time there will be a better turn out of tractors but with
fuel prices climbing out of sight I'll be shocked if we'll see a whole lot
more. So if any of you were there and I missed you I'm sorry and for those I
did see it was nice meeting you.

Rob
