[AT] Looking for a cast iron welder

Thanks everyone for the helpful comments. Charlie Hill, I thought there was a place in Goldsboro. I am going to check with them first. While structural integrity is really important, just as important is appearance. Fortunately the crack is down low and the hydraulic pump "camoflages" it to some extent. It's been welded on some before but not a very good job.

I thought I had a fellow lined up local but the guy felt like it was more than he could handle. One of my co-workers, an electrical trades teacher, worked with him at Camp Lejeune. (Luh-JOON!) They welded on all kinds of stuff, in all kinds of conditions! Problem he had was an inadequate way to heat it up and cool it down slowly....

I will keep everyone updated. My goal right now is to try to get it to run so I can assess the rest of the engine. Then I will turn my attention to the block. BTW it looks like it has been run in this shape for a long time!
Al
