Lew take it apart and clean it really well, then clean it again. The least
little piece of trash or smallest little drop of water down in the jet will
cause exactly what you are experiencing.

The jets, etc. (Marvel Schiebler carb) seem clear blowing compressed air
thru them but very well could be partially blocked

I would suggest that the carburetor probably is the culprit and that there
are some hard
to reach passages that haven't been cleaned out properly. Just a guess on
my part.
