I wouldn't worry about it for about a decade or so unless you start to use 
it a lot.  grins.
If you decide to check it, it's not all that hard to do.

My Generac 7.5KV generator is 7 years old and other than the semi-annual
testing, it's never been used. I change the oil every year and every other
year, I change the air filter and plug.  The manual says I should check the
valve rocker arm clearance after 50 hours of use.  It will be a long time
before it hits 50 hours of use at the rate we are going.

Is this something I need to worry about? It's running great as is.  It's a
Generac (Briggs?) 15hp OHVI gas engine.
