Ron at NCSU you had to have it hanging off your hip so everyone knew you
were a freshman and could laugh at you. grins.
I transferred to a small private school, ran out of money, dropped out and
went to the draft board. I wound up with a 4F. For some reason
the Army doctor decided I had bad feet. My trip to the draft board was in
'71 or maybe 72. The war was about over. I really thing it was
a bad thing I busted out on the draft physical. I almost joined the Coast
Guard but decided to go to the draft instead then busted out of that
and had to go to WORK. Went back to night school years later and finished.

That's it Charlie. You had to have that hanging off your belt so they
knew you were in engineering. Engineering gave up on me, too. The
draft board gave me a 1-Y classification due to some previous medical
problems.(stomach ulcer) That was in 1964. I think I was lucky in some
ways.
