Thanks Dean. I wasn't aware of that.

Charlie,

FYI, John Deere purchased the Lanz company as an entry into the European
market in the 1956 time frame. It turned out to be quite an
expensive education for Deere.

I noticed the John Deere Lanz tractor near the end of the photo essay. I
never realized JD had any dealings with Lanz. Mattias you need one of
those! Of course given the nature of that collection
I guess maybe that is the ONLY John Deere Lanz!

Spencer,

Wow. Nesting behind the link to Neal's fine mag book there are lots of
other goodies - like shots from the Keller Deere collection (gorgeous)
with nice photography explanation. The fellow is a master with a lens.
I would like to be his setup assistant just for the education. Lookee:

If you share my old weakness for formative motorcycles you will like Jay
Leno's interview with Lee from a link behind the Dream Garages book
cover. (Oh, to have a mid-60's Suzuki X-6 Hustler again while I am
still nimble enough to keep the little sprinter between the ditches.)
Its a shame that Leno has not yet discovered the joys of classic tractors.

What an interesting and talented fellow Lee is - blessed with creative
artistic skills and obviously formed of DNA laced with our machinery
loving genes. You know, you have some really cool friends.
