Dean,
Glad I could be of assistance. The two I have will outlast me.

Gentlemen, an update: I settled on a Kennedy toolbox, as Rob Wilson had
suggested. I ordered a new one through a local supplier back in early
November (all they had in stock was Chinese stuff), but they were waiting
for some other Kennedy orders to accumulate before placing mine so there
wouldn't be any shipping cost. When I checked in with them a week or so
ago, the order still hadn't been placed so I was worried it wouldn't get
here in time to give to my son for Christmas. But the owner went ahead and
called the order in for me and still didn't charge me any shipping, and the
toolbox showed up a couple of days later. Looks great and should last my
son forever.

I stocked it with a good selection of common hand tools, all very nice solid
stuff but not necessarily top of the line (except for the Estwing
leather-handle hammer, which in my book is as nice as they come). Had to
shop around a variety of stores to find US-made stuff, and eventually gave
up and went with imports for the allen wrench sets and a combination
chisel/rasp. Had a good time browsing.

Hope you're all enjoying a peaceful December. Happy almost-Christmas to you
all.

Dean Vinson

Hello, all. Would any of you have recommendations for a good solid USA-made
hand tool box? I'm looking for a traditional all-metal 20" tool box with a
hinged lid, carrying handle in the center, and a single tray that fits in
the top. My dad has a great old Craftsman toolbox that he's had for
probably 50+ years, and it's awesome. I have two Craftsman toolboxes that
I've had for probably 30+ years, and they're pretty good. I'm looking for
one for my son, but couldn't find any at Sears and can't tell if the on-line
model is USA-made:

kType=G4

I'm open to any brand, doesn't have to be Craftsman.

Thanks!
