Agreed. I learned to run 6013 on DC on an old Craftsman AC/DC buzzbox
welding (cobbling?) up hog crates. It won't make a real pretty weld like
7018 but it will weld metal that's pretty nasty and corroded. I now have
MIG as well but when I need to do heavy or rusty iron, the buzzbox (that I
bought used for $125) is what I reach for. MIG doesn't like rust much but
it's great for production work on new, clean and light steel. Most tractor
related stuff is old, rusty and heavy...
