My grandfather never spent the night at home from the time the first barn 
was lit until the last fire went out. He had barns on 2 farms so he had to 
travel a few miles to keep them going. He had a cot in a packhouse on one of 
the farms where he would take a nap before traveling back to the other farm 
to add more wood to the fire.
