Look for info on trailer wiring hookup for you vehicle.  I think trailer 
brakes use the backup-lights to turn off surge brakes so you CAN backup 
:-).   Or just attempt to make a water tight T tape into the BU lamp 
feed at the real.  (I don't think a water tight connection on a vehicle 
is possible.... but we try)
