[AT] New fuel requirements 15% ethanol

I wouldn't worry about it. It is illegal according to the EPA to put
E15 in anything older than 2002 or so unless it has been emission
certified at E15 or higher. So unless the gas station wants to add
additional pumps or eliminate half its customers, they will not make the
switch. There is also no government incentive to do so. I don't see a
switch to E15 from E10 happening ever.

I would love to have access to E15 or E20. That is where my 2004 S10
gets the best mileage. I mix E85 with E10 when I can to get E50. I
see no loss of mileage with E50 and the fuel is cheaper. Anything more
than 50% ethanol causes the check engine light to come on, but it still
runs good. It comes on because the fuel system is too lean.

They interviewed a classic car mechanic who said that ethanol at the 10% level was causing seals and hoses to turn to goo, and the the new limit would only make the problem worse. I know I have a lot of engines, chain saws, trimmers, lawn tractors etc. that were designed for 0% ethanol, is there anything I can do limit the impact of the new fuel on my equipment? Or is it really not a problem.
