[AT] [Farmall] Fwd: [SEL] OT IH M tractor question for a friend

Mike,

Incidentally, a similar (and maybe the same) problem exists on the W9.
There the problem starts up at the Crankcase Front Plate/Crankcase Front
Cover. For some reason that I don't know the hole pattern in this
Plate/Cover that allows for mounting the Magneto Bracket Drive Shaft was
changed in production. This resulted in two different Magneto Brackets
being called out in the Parts Manual. When IH offered the aftermarket
live hydraulics kit for the W9's, the pump that would mate up with the
Crankcase Front Plate/Crankcase Front Cover on the later w9's would not do
so on the earlier ones without drilling a new hole and reaming out one or
two of the existing holes (I have this mess on my W9).

Regarding the M/SM question my guess would be that to put a SM live pump
on an M would require at most only having to move the Crankcase Front
Plate/Crankcase Front Cover along with the pump from the SM to the M -
