As to the high compression, I was pleased to see that Charlie Hill's
earlier comment above seems accurate... the Super M dyno'd at 57
horsepower on Saturday morning, and at 53 when I ran it again Sunday
afternoon. Not sure what would account for the difference from one day to
the next, but it was fun to hear it under a real load for a change and to
see some nice high numbers. There's a video of the first dyno test on
youtube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dl7_FgZGj5c.

Dean,

>From the M&W results it sounds like your' SM is just as nice on the inside
as it is on the out.

I was just looking at the Nebraska Test results for the gasoline M, SM,
400 and 450 and their PTO/Belt HP progressed from 36.7 to 46.3 to 50.8 to
55.3 respectively. It would be nice to know for certain but my guess is
there's a 450 under the Hood.

The Ferguson dealer North of me has an M&W Dyno. I asked him recently how
accurate he thought it was and he said quite accurate but you had to let
the oil in it warm up good first. He said this could take at least a half
hour for small tractors and upwards of an hour for the larger ones (he
didn't define small and large). So, just wondering... could there have
been a difference in the oil temperature between your' two tests?
