Kevin,
    The serial number is within the generally accepted range for 
demonstrators.  If you plan on restoring it I would document it well with 
lots of pictures of it's existing evidence of white paint.

Anyone on the list know if this Cub, with a serial number of 105940, if it
may be a demonstrator? It looks like it does have white paint under the red,
