Hey John, according to Al Jones, you are the Guru for A's! Right now my plan is to work my SA until I leave on a dive trip for a month Nov/Dec, returning around the 23rd. Then I will be taking him to a shop here in Chapel Hill where the owner is going to let me rebuild/restore him. If I get stumped on something, may I contact you? You don't happen to live in my area, do you?! Can't wait to meet you guys. Hey, if anyone lives in my area, maybe we can get together and plan that SA-Fest!!

Dale, did your parts tractor come from Person Co.? If so it was probably one
 friend of mine was selling.

To answer your question, the serial number is 250323, but I just bought
another '48 SA with a broken crankshaft for parts, and if I remember
right, it had a SN of 280???. I will be picking it up Sunday and taking
it home, and will check the number then. I do hate to cannibalize another
tractor, but I can't afford to continue to buy individual parts. I will
probably have lots of stuff left over for sell/barter!

BTW Ben, where are you located with your '48? Planning on being in the
Chapel Hill area any time soon?! Hope to meet you and others this next
year at some of the Cubfests (or SA-fest?!)
