    Leroy

    New points are not necessarily good. I have gotten then that were 
oxidized on the contacts and had to be dressed to get continuity through 
them. With the ignition off and points closed use an ohmmeter to check 
continuity through points. Should be near zero ohms.

    Start at the points with a voltmeter. With points open check that you 
have voltage on the hot side, if not work back toward source for voltage at 
each component, coil psitive and negative, resistor at supply and load side 
and back to the switch.

    Check for the center carbon electrode contact in center of distributor 
cap.

                Good lock with the tractor.
