Not to hijack an earlier thread, but how many of you are having gas for your tractors delivered to a bulk tank at your home? Do you get a break on the price of the gas? We get non-highway diesel delivered to our 280 gal. tank, the co. we buy it from will give you 4 cents per gallon off if you pay in cash within so many days of delivery.
I would like to keep at least a 100 gallon tank here to keep my antiques and the chore tractors filled up. Five gallon cans are such a pain, plus one of our cans needs to be replaced, and the "safety" caps on all new gas cans are an even bigger pain!
When I was little, my dad and grandaddy had three 280 gal. tanks which the local oil co. kept filled. This was in the late 70's and early 80's. I have fond memories of watching grandaddy use the old push/pull pump to fill the old MF 300 combine up. They got to having such a hard time with people stealing gas that they quit keeping gas on hand.
