Don't know exact part numbers, however, there will be differences in the
carburetor, exhaust manifold, etc, when a distillate is converted over to
gas only. Some of this is shown in the owner's manual. One other thing
that they would do is remove the one gallon gas tank on the right side,
along with the fuel line, shut off valve, tee fitting, etc.
Go to the following site
www.aldermans.com
Select the "PARTS" tab just under the heading.
On the next page scroll down to "CaseIH Parts and select the red button.
On the next page type in FARMALL H for the "MODEL" and hit SEARCH.
Pick either tractor that comes up and look at things like - ENGINE -
035 ENGINE,MANIFOLD AND EXHAUST PIPE
You should see a picture of the distillate and the gasoline manifold set
ups along with part numbers under them.
When I got my H it was converted and has all the gas only parts. I managed
to get the starter tank so I can fill the hole in the hood. (Just can't
seem to figure out how it mounted, but I didn't spend more then a couple
of minutes popping it under the hood to see how it went in. It's not an
important thing at this time.)
Some of the other on this list can probably give you more exact
information like differences in spark plugs, etc.
Good luck!

Subject
[Farmall] 1942 Farmall H distillate or gas
Hello.
My name is Jerry Bossard and I am the new owner of a 1942 Farmall H that
belonged to my Grandfather. I don't know much about the tractor other
than
it was used slightly yearly and has a 7' sickle mower attached. I was
able
to get the serial number off the side of the tractor which is FBH - 101041
. There was not an "X1" or "X3" behind the serial so I'm going to assume
it
was gas/distillate when it was new. The tag also says not to exceed 1815
RPMs.
I'm really excited to get the tractor running and use it as a general
mower
around the acreage. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
My questions are as follows:
1. I'm not sure if the fuel was converted to all gas. How do I know if I
need to use gas or distillate in the fuel tank? How do I check to see if
the tractor was converted to all gas or if it has original factory setup?
2. I'm not sure what this tractor was all used for besides mowing, so what
parts can I expect to need attention?
3. I'm looking at purchasing some service manuals, what are the best
manuals
out there?
4. Are there other good forums to register with?
Thanks,
Jerry Bossard
