[AT] Off topic mouse problem

LOL!  There are some threads that ought to be archived just so we can review them a few years later and shake our heads in disbelief.  This may be one of them.  Take note of what the next two generations of "media users" are doing when it comes to interaction with computers, games, cell phones, etc.  The idea of having a device that you have to physically move around so you can place a computer cursor where you want it, is rapidly becoming obsolete.  My son's cell phone automatically interfaces from voice to text and enters the message in whichever social media is appropriate, transparently.  I threw out about $400-worth of computer cables and hardware last week because all of it was "old technology" that no longer will interface with any systems.  My point is that within a very short time we won't need any sort of extra pointing device.

My coffee-drinking buddy was doing some cleaning out last week and decided that he didn't need a super six channel sound system that he bought about five years ago.  I reluctantly took it of his hands, and did some comparisons between the audio system and the four computer systems I have operating at home.  I found that I still have one (just one) system that is old enough to still run his state-of-the-art system that he was giving away.

I suspect that this situation is at least a part of the appeal we all feel for old tractors.  Old Iron doesn't automatically cause us stress because of obsolescence.

Larry
