My son came across an older tractor for sale and told me about it. I was able to stop and look at it for a few minutes. I did not have camera with me. Itt was painted JD green and had a J-D decal under paint, but I am reasonably sure it was not a JD.

The tractor is supposedly a late 40's or early 50's unit. It has a 4 cylinder Continental engine, and a driveline going back to the rear drive train. Transmission is a 4 speed. I recall that the shifter was in the rear drive train portion, but I also recall what looked like a transmission alsoo on the back of the engine. (wished I would have had camera and taken pictures.)

The frame is a bent channel that is rounded in the front, forming a "U" that goes around the engine.  It has a wide front with a center pivot mounted to the "U" frame. Appears the sheet metal hood may have been replaced with some home made sheet metal

It has a 3 point hitch set up. This has what looks like a factory mounted special cylinder at the right and to the rear of the seat that operated the 3 point linkage.

I was told it might be a "White" but and not sure.

Can any of you give me advice about what tractors in that era used Continental engines, and what this might be??

Thanks,
Dennis
