Only advice I can think of is do not get bitten :) I am still not out of
the woods after nearly a month and have gained very little use of my left
hand.

Be careful.

I wonder if raccoons are up on the list, too. We now have a big fat
'coon in the small barn here. A couple of evenings ago I was poking
around in the loft among some stored boxes and hear some rustling at
the other end of the space. I called "here, kitty kitty!" but it
turned out to be a big coon. He climbed up the wall, along the rafter
to the middle, then straight up the wall to the peak of the roof. I
left him along and pretty soon left.

No, I did not get bitten, but I understand that a coon can make an
awful mess of any cat, and that I'm strongly advised to stay to hell
away from the thing. I plan to get a have-a-heart trap from the SPCA,
and hope to give the furry thing a *long* ride out into the
countryside from my place.

(No, we don't have any gun here, but even if I borrowed one, I'd be
digging a big hole in the back field.)

Any further advice?
