You could also put a magnetic heater on the block or the oil pan.

When it's really cold outside, I'll start the tractor in the garage and 
let it idle for a while before I take it out. Builds up some heat and gets 
the oil thinned out so I don't have to worry about any seizing up due to 
the cold.
