[AT] Oil Gauge

Hello,

I recently purchased the oil pressure gauge for my Farmall Super A from 
Valu-Bilt tractor parts.  I had matched my part number, 43987DB, to my 
parts catalog.  When it arrived today, I noticed it had two studs 
sticking out next to the screw.  Have I gotten the wrong gauge, even 
though it matches my part number?  The catalog didn't mention that it 
could screw into the oil filter housing, but it was for a Super A. 

In other words, the gauge cannot screw into my tractor with the studs.  
Will I need to return the part, or can the studs come out? 

Being that I have a limited, very limited, budget, could I cut the studs 
off?
