YOUR PROBLEM IS A PRETTY EASY FIX. IN THE BOTTOM OF THE FILTER HOUSING
THERE IS A THREADED INSERT THAT BOLTS TO THE FILTER HOUSING BOTTOM / BLOCK.
THIS PIECE IS WHERE THE LONG BOLT THAT HOLDS THE FILTER AND TOP TIGHT. YOU
CAN REMOVE THAT STRIPPED ONE THEN GET A REPLACMENT. THERE ARE TWO TYPES OF
THREADS FOR THE FILTER BOLT. FINE AND CURSE. SOMEONE PROBABLEY REPLACE THE
FILTER BOLT SOMETIME WITH THE WRONG THREADED BOLT RESULTING IN YOUR PROBLEM.
IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM GETTING A MATCHED SET LET ME KNOW. I HAVE SEVRIAL CUB
ENGINES AND CAN FIX YOU UP FOR A REASONABLE PRICE. CONTACT

Hello all, this is my 1st post and I have real doozey for everyone.
Just got my 1st cub she is a 1950 6v, w/ j-4 magneto. I removed the
filter bolt and it was stripped out, well cross threaded. Any
suggestions on how I should go about repairing this. Thanks for the
advice in advance. Bert
