David I attempted to do that last night but for some reason missed the 
prompt to send the computer into safe mode and never got back to it.  That's 
good advice.  I'll try it when I get time.

Ken and everyone,  I was just telling Mike Sloane off list and I'll share it 
with everyone.  Mike sent me a link directly to the Firefox download.  I 
loaded the program without making it my default browser.  I also didn't 
transfer any files, or favorites, etc.   I went to our county tax mapping 
site to try and get some work done and just a few minutes into what I was 
doing another window popped up in Firefox to a bogus search engine site like 
the ones that have been re-directing me to the virus site.  I closed out of 
it before it could do any damage.  There are no pop-ups or links on the 
county tax site that I could have possibly hit to make it do this. 
Something in my machine or online is causing this re-direct problem.
