According to todays Dagens Industri (Daily Industry, the Swedish Wall Street
Journal) Toyoda Motor Company was founded in 1933 by Kiichiro Toyoda as a
part of his fathers company that made automatic looms. The first car was
made in 1935. The company becomes independent in 1937 and changes it's name
to Toyota Motor because it's easier to pronounce and (as Charlie said) can
be written with eight brush strokes in Japanese which is considered lucky.

Mattias who hasn't had any snow today, yet.

P.S. roofs are falling in everywhere around here and we are shoveling and
not only modern flat roofs but even roofs that have survived 150 years,
needless to say no one have lived long enough to see this much snow before
in this area. And it's the coldest winter since WWII. Al Gore is the biggest
swindler ever. At least we are going north this weekend so we will only have
to endure normal amounts of snow, where snow is normal. D.S.
