when installing wet sleeves there shouldn't be any need for  dry ice. If 
everything is properly cleaned and the O ring is properly lubbed the  sleeve 
should push in by hand with no problems. Now dry sleeves  shouldn't  need any 
Ice either. if proper sized and prepared they should slide in with a  tap 
of a block of wood. In both types of sleeves the head holds them in  place. 
Dry sleeves can be a problem to remove especially if there has been  a 
coolant leak into the slight cavity between the sleeve  and water  jacket.That 
have been my experionce over the past 30 years of rebuilding such  engines.
