Hello,
Thanks for all the replies on my BN parts. I have drastically lowered
my prices. Would my engine block with the BN serial number be worth
more because of that serial number? Know anyone who needs a BN block?
A big thank you to everyone who answered my questions on restoring the
1948 Super A. It started, after some timing issues, and runs great.
This list has been a great resource for all my questions which seemed
"unanswerable."
While driving my Super A the other day checking all the systems, I
noticed a low knock in the final drive. We marked the tire, and the
results showed the knock occurs once per revolution. The tractor does
not jolt when the knock occurs. I wondered if a gear is missing a
tooth, or a tooth is chipped. Is this solution correct, and if the gear
is chipped/cracked/missing a tooth what should I do? If I need to
replace the gear, where could I purchase one?
I hope it is nothing serious... but I have been told to be concerned
about any unusual sounds around the gears.
Thanks,
Ben Wagner
