Joe,

How stuck is it? What are you trying to do to get it loose?

Thanks Dean, I will down load the manual tomorrow. I took the
afternoon off and took the clutch apart, sanded everything down, put it
back together and now it works fine. A small victory, but now I can
focus on the stuck piston. I figured these things were designed to be
worked on by the average farmer, so I might have a fighting chance.

Enjoy, Joe

Joe,

Yes, you can get to everything related to the clutch through the
pulley. One of
the JD Two Cylinder
advantages over other tractors of the era. You can download a JD 60
Parts
catalog FREE of charge
from the JD Parts web site:

https://jdparts.deere.com/servlet/com.deere.u90.jdparts.view.publicservlets.HomeUnsigned

Right under "Start Searching Here" click on: "John Deere Parts Catalog"

On the new page enter "60" in the model box and click find.

This will bring up all JD products that have a "60" model #. The 5th
on the
list you will find the
"244 - Model 60 Tractor". Click on this and it will immediately begin
to start
downloading the PDF
for the 60 Parts Catalog. It may take quite a while since it is a big
file
depending on the speed of
your internet connection. After it is fully downloaded, save it on your
hard
drive. If you like hard
copies you can print out the whole catalog or just print out the pages
you need.

There are several other manuals for the JD 60. One a service manual
which I
would strong suggest.
Don't buy your manuals at JD, they are overpriced. Go to
www.deerelydeparted.com.
There manuals are
better quality and sometimes half the price of JD's and have exactly
the same
information.

Dean, when you push the clutch lever forward nothing happens, it will
move just a little, but not enough to do anything. Can I get to the
clutch pack through the belt pulley? Manual has been ordered.

Enjoy, Joe

Joe,

Do you have a 60O Parts catalog? What happens when you push the clutch
lever
forward? If you take
the clutch cover off and move the clutch lever forward and backwards do
the
internals of the clutch
move? You may just have to peel all the layers of the clutch off and
clean
things up. Probably
rusty.

My JD 60 O appears to have the clutch stuck in the disengaged position.
 Anyone
know a simple trick
to getting it to engage? I took the clutch fork out and looked inside
and
everything appears to
look OK. I didn't want to pry on anything too hard for fear of
breaking
something. Any
suggestions?

Enjoy, Joe
