I am guessing that the cheap Chinese paint on the Franklin Mint pieces
is oxidizing. I doubt that the is much you can do about it, except
re-paint with some IH color paint. I suppose, if you had known this was
going to happen, you could have covered the tractor with flat or
semi-gloss clear urethane coating of some kind.
I have not had that problem, but I keep the few models of the IH
tractors in inexpensive plastic display cases meant for "collector" toy
cars (I usually have to poke a hole for the exhaust stack for the bigger
ones). I keep meaning to correct some of the incorrect colors (like the
black axle ends), but I never seem to get a round tuit.
