[Farmall] Setback on '40 Farmall A

The good news is that I think #s 1,3,and 4 are not stuck. I checked the oil level petcock this morning and a lot of my PB blaster is in the oilpan. #2 is still full.

I have been worrying that the water in the sleeve could have frozen, swelled the sleeve, and cracked the block internally! Since it didn't look too full, maybe not. I am bad about hearing hoofbeats and assuming it's zebras with something like this....

I didn't take chance to elaborate but I am thinking I will let this become part of one of my classes this semester. I have a class this semester that is mostly shop-based and though it's mostly based in electrical and construction skills in agriculture, there's some lee way to take on something mechanical when we're "caught up." I haven't taught it in about 5 years but I'm determined to make sure the students get the full experience. My plan is to make the students do the legwork--research the engine, what parts are needed, what do they cost, where do they need to order from, etc. with their fearless teacher footing the bill ;) I won't know for sure until next week what this class'll look like but I think I will have some students that can handle it.

So, I'm gonna pull it to school later this week, drop it by the local MF dealer in town to get it steam cleaned real good, and go from there.

PS my home computer took a dump last night. So I may be on here sporadically.
