I have bought quite a few things from HF. It all depends on what the
item is and what you expect.
I know a bunch of steel fab shops that buy the 4.5" grinders in case
lots. One good drop kills the DeWalt/Bosch/Makitas just as fast as the
HF units. The grit and crud also eats up bearings and motors just as
fast as well.
The new TIG/Stick unit they have with digital readout is a GOOD unit for
the price. There are entire sites devoted to the lathes they sell.
