[Farmall] The Tractor Fever Worsens

Ben, I have two A's.  One is 1941 Farmall that my grandfather purchased new, and the other is an International A with a Wood belly mower on it.  Great little tractors.

I am pleased to announce that as of yesterday, I have brought home a 
1945 Farmall A.  She is in great shape... sheetmetal isn't bent, grill 
looks new, and it has the original decals.  It's been shedded for all 
its life, and that sure keeps tractors nice.   It starts just like 
new... always on the second crank.  The owner told me it had a crack 
between the middle pistons, but it could only be seen with the magnaflux.  

The great thing about it is that it has the pneumatic Lift-All that runs 
off the exhaust.  I don't know if it works or not, the gentleman who I 
bought it from said he put a new gasket in 20+ years ago, but he never 
used it.  

It came with a Model 59 Woods belly mower, original cultivator, bottom 
plow, and a snow plow.  Plus, it included extra parts: block, head with 
manifold, two camshafts, oil pan, belt pulley, and a couple assorted 
parts.  The block's serial number was off a BN.  

So I couldn't resist it, and it followed me home.  

The only problem with it is that the clutch is stuck.  He was using it 
with the belly mower, and the belt broke.  So, he took it and parked it 
under his back yard patio deck.  Well, that was right before that big 
snow Virginia had.  Life intervened, and he didn't get to replace the 
belt.  Then it snowed, and he decided to take the belly mower off and 
put on the snow blade.  He pushed the clutch in, leaving it in gear, and 
he said that was the first time the tractor ever started on the first 
push of the starter.  He barely missed demolishing his deck!  I guess 
the wet weather soaked into the clutch, and rusted it to the flywheel.  
I tried to break it free, but it got too dark to finish last night.  

I will probably need to sell one of them, either this A or more Super A, 
but I will leave that decision for a little bit!
