A few years ago I saw a small Gleaner on the side of I40 in eastern NC. It
was actually sitting in the road right of way between the lanes at an
overpass. It had a strange, narrow head on it. After talking to some
folks, I think some on this list, I determined that it was a grass seed
header and they were harvesting centipede grass seed from the median strip
of the highway.
