Roy; I agree with you. My pull wire may be secured to my pickup in a
different manner than yours is secured. My pull wire must be disconnected
from the switch before I can disconnect the pull wire from the pickup.
During this brief period of time current draw occurs. If I forget to
reconnect the pull wire with the switch, current draw continues until the
battery is dead. Herb

I'm pretty sure that the pull wire on my trailer is a mechanical
lanyard not an electrical connection that pulls out a switch that
closes if the trailer separates from the truck. I will investigate
further, but I think the battery in there has no current draw until
the pull wire pulls out the switch plug thing.
