[Ford-ferguson] 9N Clutch Rod Clevis Question

The free travel of my 9N clutch pedal needs ideas. My manual says that the free travel of the clutch pedal (the distance the clutch pedal can be pushed down before resistance is met [the moment the clutch release bearing contacts the clutch release levers] is the only adjustment necessary for the proper operation of the clutch. The amount of free travel should be 3/16" - measured between the top of the pedal and the pedal stop.

The free travel on mine appears to be 3/8". I'm wondering if someone used a 2N or 8N clutch rod clevis to repair it long before I bought it as my manual says says that all one needs to do to decrease free travel is to shorten that rod.

The clutch rod clevis on my 9N is 37" long to the end of the threaded end. When I shortened the travel as much as the threads will allow, the free travel is still 3/8". It appears that the clutch rod clevis on it has been bent (maybe to shorten it?), so I straightened it. Does anyone have any ideas where I might go from here? Does anyone know how long that rod should be for a 9N?

Thanks!
CW
