Charlie-- I too grew up on   a  35delux    and   my first tractor  was a 
135,  we now have  a  245...

our neighbor had  a   464        ---  they have never treated  it badly at 
all.
 
He barrowed our   245  one day   and   2 days later  started  calling  
dealers  to trade it off.     He ended up with   a  5410 JD  that he loved   and 
used   everyday  for everything..   HE  like everyone  else  thought  the 
IH was  the ONLY thing  till he  drove something else...  
 
I've said this before   if you compare a  424(444)   to  a ferguson   the 
135  is the same time frame   (apples to  apples )         aint    no way  
you'd want  an  8N   to work   with   if you could have   a  424   with all  
its goodies... 
 
And I will say  that  the  464  the guy had was   ok      and  Its still  
around the  community
