Wiring around circuits is not all that hard if you have some inkling of what
is supposed to happen. Do the manuals have circuit schematics or are they
available?

I just spent a week with a cobbled up circuit board. The hot water heater
igniter board failed a week ago. I do not have schematics for the board but
do have to the external circuits and a minimal explanation o how things are
supposed to work. The explanation is more to tell you about where the
problem is and to take it in for repair.

After playing with it or a while I figured out the board was bad and where
to place some wires to get the electrical side to mostly work and the
Propane side to work if I manually lit it. In both cases I had to keep an
eye on the temperature because the thermostat was wired around.

I took the board in and it tested bad. The board for who knows what reason
is potted in place so I cannot get to the circuit. Replacement is the only
option and they want about $200 for a replacement with tax. The place has
problems so they only accept cash or checks. I checked around and found one
cheaper but arrived too late to get it. The next day we found the wrong
board in the box so they ordered me one. This one only cost $175 not
counting the four 60 mile round trips. I now have hot water and the jumpers
are put away.
