Fro what it is worth, I completely agree with Charlie - I run diesel
rated 15W-40 in every one of my couple dozen engines (except the two
strokes, of course). I buy my oil in 5 gallon pails from NAPA; I can't
be bothered to have different oils for different engines. I have never
had an engine fail from lubrication problems. (I don't put that in my
brand new car and truck - that would void the warranty - but I used it
in my old Ford F35 with the IH 6.9L V-8.)
