Hi Richard,

By the chart I sent the link to this morning it looks like a 16.9-24 mounts on a 15" wide rim. The 9-24 on the other hand will mount on an 8" wide rim, by the same chart. Do I have these tire sizes correct as stated?

I am a long way from 100% on this, but I think you have some homework to do before you decide to buy them. Hopefully someone with more hands on will chime in with more knowledge.

I have been in the tire business today also. My JD L had a seriously split rear tire when I bought it. That since has gone flat with tube showing out some of the 12 inch long sidewall split. I do not like things around that do not move, and the tractor is blocking in my truck plow. I took the tire and tube off the rim yesterday and all are bad news. The old closed bar tread tire is totally rotten ( actually tore the bead pulling on it with my hands) and the rim is not real healthy and would need many hours of work to save it. As far as I know there are no 22" tires being made now and used ones are very hard to find.

Long story short, I found a new pair of 11.3-24 on craigs list mounted on brand new rims and wheel centers with a six hole bolt pattern to match mine. I bought them today, brought them home and installed one on the L. Hopefully I will install the other one tomorrow. Being a size over and the 2" bigger wheels will offer a Super farm tractor puller look, but at least it is a mobile unit again. This set up will do for a while.
